A Mission of Care and Dignity: Cornerstone Caregiving

Cornerstone Caregiving has been quietly changing lives in Texarkana and the surrounding areas, growing into a trusted name for families seeking compassionate, non-medical in-home care.

At the heart of this mission is Alex Ganjizadeh, Director of Operations, who believes the organization’s success is rooted in listening and responding to the needs of the community. “At Cornerstone Caregiving, we provide a variety of non-medical in-home care services,” Alex says. “We aim to help our clients maintain their independence and dignity while living comfortably in their own homes.”

Cornerstone Caregiving offers a wide range of services that reflect the everyday challenges people face when aging or recovering from health setbacks. Alex explains, “Our services include personal care, such as assistance with bathing and dressing. We also offer companionship to keep clients socially engaged and happy. Our caregivers can help with meal preparation and medication reminders to ensure good health and nutrition.”

He continues by describing how the team goes further than basic care. “We also provide light housekeeping and transportation for appointments and errands. We also offer specialized care for those with Alzheimer’s or dementia, as well as support for veterans and individuals recovering from a hospital stay. For family caregivers, we provide respite care. We are also able to provide round-the-clock care when needed.”

According to Alex, every service is delivered with one goal in mind: supporting clients so they can remain in their homes with comfort, dignity, and safety.

The company is deeply embedded in the communities it serves. Cornerstone Caregiving extends its support beyond Texarkana into neighboring towns, reaching a wide range of families who otherwise might have limited access to quality in-home care. Cornerstone currently serves Texarkana, Atlanta, New Boston, DeKalb, De Queen, Ashdown, Hope, and Magnolia.

Being rooted in the community matters to Alex and his team. “We are a group of locals seeking to enhance the level of care for our area residents,” he says. “We believe that everyone deserves to live with dignity and independence in the comfort of their own home. We are your neighbors, committed to providing the highest quality in home care right here in our community.”

Choosing in-home care can be a difficult decision for families. That is why Cornerstone Caregiving makes the process approachable with a free in-home assessment. “We believe this is an essential first step in helping you or your loved one. This is not a sales meeting. It is a conversation where we take the time to listen and understand your situation. We will meet with you and your family in person at your home,” Alex says.

The purpose of this assessment is to gain a comprehensive understanding of the client’s needs and routines. “During this visit, we will discuss your specific needs. We will ask about daily routines and any challenges you are facing. We also look at the home environment to identify any potential safety concerns,” Alex explains. “Our goal is to create a personalized care plan that is right for you. We will go over what services would be most beneficial, and we can often start care within 24 hours of this meeting if you are ready.”

Families often find peace of mind knowing care can begin quickly and smoothly once a plan is in place. However, many often wonder what happens if an issue arises late at night or during weekends. Cornerstone Caregiving has an answer.

Alex explains, “We know that care does not stop after business hours. That is why we have an on-call team available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to answer your calls and texts. Our team is always ready to assist our caregivers, and our managers are available around the clock for any emergencies. We are here for you and your family, day or night.” This commitment to being constantly available reassures families that support is never far away.

Among its many specialized services, veteran care holds a special place for the organization. Alex emphasizes, “It is a source of great pride for us to serve those who served our country. We serve through a fully funded program through the VA to provide high-quality care right in the comfort of a veteran’s home.”

He acknowledges that the path to benefits can sometimes be confusing. “I am here to help veterans and their families navigate the VA enrollment process. I can help our veterans gain access to the benefits they have earned so they can receive the care they need at no cost to the veteran.”

The services are comprehensive, addressing not only physical needs but also emotional and social well-being. “Our services for veterans are comprehensive and personalized,” Alex explains. “We offer help with daily routines and personal care, companionship, and support for those with cognitive needs. Our goal is to honor our veterans’ service by helping them live with dignity and independence.”

He adds, “We are proud to partner with countless local and national organizations to ensure we can provide the best possible support to the veteran community.”

Cornerstone Caregiving is also forward-looking, investing in specialized training to raise the level of care even higher. Alex points to their dementia care training as an example. “We are especially proud of our specialized care programs. We provide specialized dementia training for our caregivers to ensure the best possible support for those with cognitive needs,” he says. He also reveals an exciting development on the horizon. “In fact, we are excited to announce that we will have new training sessions open to the public in 2026.”

These sessions, Alex believes, will not only help caregivers but also empower families and community members who interact with individuals facing cognitive challenges.

For families considering care options, Cornerstone Caregiving positions itself as a dependable, compassionate choice. Alex says, “Our goal is to create a personalized care plan that is right for you.” The company’s accessible approach, wide range of services, veteran support, around-the-clock availability, and commitment to specialized training all reflect its deep commitment to client well-being.

The Cornerstone Caregiving team remains focused on its mission of care and dignity.
